Cllr Keith Glazier awarded OBE in King’s Birthday Honours
Cllr Keith Glazier, Chair of Transport for the South East, has been awarded an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours in recognition of his longstanding dedication to public service.
Cllr Glazier has represented the Rye and Eastern Rother area on East Sussex County Council since 1997 and became leader of the council in 2013.
In 2017, he became the inaugural Chair of Transport for the South East, where he has provided strategic leadership to the partnership, which brings together 16 local transport authorities to champion the region’s transport priorities.
Speaking about the honour, Cllr Glazier said: “I am proud and privileged to have represented my own community for so many years, and I feel very honoured to have been recognised in this way.
“I have had the opportunity to work with the very best people who dedicate their lives to supporting others, and this award is as much for them as it is for me.”
Cllr Glazier sits on the Local Government Association’s General Assembly, is a council member for the County Councils Network, and Chairs the South East 7 Leaders group.
