Our Strategic Investment Plan recognises the reliance of the Islanders on the privately-run ferry service, and supports more frequent services, longer operating hours, new seasonal routes and better integration with rail and bus networks.

To further understand the island’s economic and transport needs, TfSE’s Business Advisory Group commissioned an independent academic study from Economicsense, resulting in the Solent Ferry Services Report.

The report reviews the current ferry system, compares international models, explores the economic factors behind the island’s situation and outlines potential options for change.
