We are recruiting for two key roles to help us on the next stage of our journey and to support the development of our strategic investment plan for the South East. As a team we work flexibly with the roles based within the South East.

If you believe you have what it takes and want to be part of shaping this organisation, we want to hear from you.

Transport strategy manager

Our new transport strategy manager will lead the development and delivery of key elements of our technical programme as we work towards our strategic investment plan. This will set out a thirty-year investment pipeline for the South East, making a compelling case for public and private investment in our region.

To support this, you will lead one or more of the recently commissioned area studies, identifying the specific interventions required to help us achieve our vision. The post holder will also manage the development of a freight, logistics and gateways strategy, which is crucial for economic growth in the South East and across the UK.

Support officer

As support officer for Transport for the South East, you will work across the team to provide efficient and comprehensive support for our technical programme. This will include organising and minuting meetings, supporting communications and stakeholder engagement activity, such as event organisation, and other administrative support.

You will have excellent organisation skills, the ability to prioritise your workload, excellent ICT skills and good written and oral communications skills. You will be able to work under pressure, will be flexible to adapt to changing situations and have political awareness, including the ability to work within and understand political processes.
